Definition

Static electricity is charge that is held in one place, so when something is charged, charges stay only one place that you made a charge.  We can make a charge by friction, induction and conduction.

 Example

 Look at the above picture. This is example of static electricity. When you rub the hair with a balloon, balloon will get more electrons on the surface that you rubbed and hair is neutral(number of electron and proton is same), so balloon will attract hair. Any way electricity is stay in place that you rubbed. That is Static Electricity.

Car Painting with static electricity

 This is same idea as photocopiers. Many car painting workers use static electricity for car painting. So first, they prepare Car's surface without painting and they put in a paint booth. In a paint, there are electrical charges in it. The charged paint will attract to the body of car like a balloon is stick to the wall. When it dries, it will be very clean and painted exactly. That charged paint stay in one place ( car's surface), so it is good technology that using static electricity
